The Greater Los Angeles Section hosted their annual sweetheart’s night on 5 June. Eighty-eight members and guests attended the event dressed in their cowboy hats and boots, as this year’s theme was country and western night. The event featured square dancing, line dancing, a mechanical bull, a western style shootout and a barbecue. Each attendee received a raffle prize and there was a contest for best dressed male and female.

Following the festivities was the annual installation of new Section officers. Among the new officers inducted were Joshua Jones, chair; Dan Guerrero, vice chair; and Mike Gee, treasurer. It was also announced that this was the first time for the Section that a husband and wife served back-to-back as Section chairs. The Saudi Arabian Section held a meeting and annual Section overview on 21 July at the Carlton al Moaibed in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by 139 members and nonmembers, including guests and was sponsored by the Section.
