President’s Award Program Changes in
Place for the 2009-2010 Program Year

The SOC Awards Division approved revisions to the President’s Award Program to streamline the manual and make the program more comprehensive and user-friendly. Revisions take effect for the 2009-2010 program year. Changes include:

• Points awarded for three levels of participation: 1) essentials required to receive section rebates 2) basic – for successful section operation and 3) expanded – for section operation excellence.
• Instructions are on the same form of the item to be submitted.
• Most categories have one form to use for multiple submissions.
• More categories with points given for late submissions.
• Forms are in order by date due to headquarters.
• A new category for Student Outreach activities has been added. It covers section involvement with high school technology programs and career fair participation.
