Ohio Department of Health’s
Bureau of Radiation Protection
Seeks Comments on Proposed Amendments
Proposed amendments to rules in Chapters 3701:1-38, 3701:1-40, 3701:1-46
and 3701:1-58 of the Administrative Code.
The proposed amendments to rules in the Ohio Administrative Code
are being submitted for your review and comment. The U.S. Nuclear
Regulatory Commission revised federal regulations due to their new
jurisdiction over naturally-occurring or accelerator-produced radioactive
material in certain states. The amendments to the Ohio Administrative
Code were drafted to ensure that Ohio’s rules remain compatible
with federal regulations.
Please review the rules and provide any comments that you may have
to the Bureau of Radiation Protection of the Ohio Department of Health
at bradiation@odh.ohio.gov
by January 29, 2010. Comments that are received will
be forwarded to the Radioactive Materials Committee of the Radiation
Advisory Council, who will consider all comments relative to further
changes to the proposed rules. Following this action, the rules will
then move through the formal adoption process via the Public Health
Council.
Draft rules are located at www.odh.ohio.gov/rules/drafts/drafts.aspx
