2008 Winner Ronald T. Nisbet

2008 Winner Ronald T. Nisbet is the senior consultant for International Energy Services (IESCO) in Torrance, California, where he has worked since 1994. Before taking a position at IESCO, he was the president of the Ronald Nisbet Associates for almost 25 years. He also worked at Engineering Test Services from 1960 to 1970. He attended Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh Scotland and did post-graduate work at UCLA. Nisbet holds ASNT NDT and ACCP Professional Level III certification in MT, PT and UT.

Nisbet has been a member of ASNT since 1960. He has been the vice chair of the Standards Development Committee since 1985, vice chair of the ISO Committee since 2005, a member of the Chemical/Petroleum Committee since 1998 and a member of the Technicians Advisory Committee since 2002. Nisbet was also chair of the North American branch of BINDT from 2004 to 2008 and president of the Society of Professional Engineers in 1979 (having been a member since 1976). Nisbet is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California, was the coach of the USA Rugby Eagles from 1985 to 1988, and has been inducted into the UCLA Rugby Hall of Fame.
