2008 Winner Robert R. Doggart
Robert
L. Doggart has 36 years of experience in the nuclear, fossil and hydroelectric
fields of power generation. He is a former superintendent of the Tennessee
Valley Authority's Power Service Shop and currently serves as a forensic
investigator and expert witness. He also represents the British Institute
of Nondestructive Testing in the western hemisphere regarding the European
Pressure Equipment Directive. During his career, he has held the positions
of senior inspector, engineer, training specialist and NDT examiner,
failure prevention and outage performance superintendent, marketing
manager, ACCP Professional and ASNT NDT Level III in MT, PT, RT and
UT, radiation safety officer, ASME/ANSI codes and standards specialist,
director of nuclear quality assurance, and other related responsibilities.
He holds associate's and bachelor's of science degrees, and master's
and Ph.D. degrees, and is a certified ASQ quality engineer. From 1999-2001,
Doggart served as president and chair of ASNT, and in 1995, he was named
an ASNT Fellow.
